While Grayson's win against Newton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Grayson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Newton on Thursday.

Grayson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Newton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Grayson will take on Loganville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Newton, they will venture away from home to take on Grovetown at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
