The North Branford Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. The contest between North Branford and Valley Regional wasn't particularly close, with North Branford falling 69-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Valley Regional to victory were Noah Dolinsky and Conor Quinn. Dolinsky scored 25 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Quinn went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 3 assists. Rex Grabowski was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
North Branford's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Valley Regional, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Branford will take on Coginchaug Regional at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Valley Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against New Milford at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully New Milford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
