The Paradise Bobcats suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 70-39 loss at the hands of Durham. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Paradise has suffered against Durham since December 3, 2019.
When it comes to explaining why Paradise lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nyah Baker. Despite the final result, she scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylah Craft, who scored nine points.
Durham was led to victory by Karla Rangel and Payton Santos. Rangel scored 17 points, while Santos scored 22 points. Santos hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Lucy Pezzetti, who scored eight points.
Paradise has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Durham, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paradise will take on East Nicolaus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully East Nicolaus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Durham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colusa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
