The Coastal Academy Stingrays won the last time they faced the Monarch Royals, and things went their way on Friday too. Coastal Academy walked away with a 48-38 victory over Monarch.
Coastal Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from London Afalava, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Afalava has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Heiress Afalava, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Coastal Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Monarch, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coastal Academy will face off against School for Entrepreneurship & Technology at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Monarch's road trip will continue as they head out to face San Diego Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 24th. San Diego Academy is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
