South Central recap October 22, 2013
New Ulm's Nate Glaubitz rumbled for the longest rushing play in South Central this season in his game against Fairmont last week. Glaubitz scampered for 53 yards on the play and finished with 95 on the day as his team fell to the Cardinals.
St. Peter moved up to 86 from 132 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Saints climbed the ranks as a result of topping New London-Spicer 33-16.
New Ulm's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Glaubitz threw for 56 yards and Tevin Mooter had 25 yards receiving. On the ground Glaubitz contributed 95 yards. Tyler Dittrich helped New Ulm's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
Glaubitz was the most successful running back in the league this week. Matt Rowley also contributed to the rushing game with 27 yards on the ground.
New Ulm's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Glaubitz has thrown for 222 yards this season, while Jackson Yackley has 12 catches for 135 yards.
Waseca extended the longest winning streak in South Central this week by beating Fridley, 34-21. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Bluejays.
