As a matter of fact, Burney put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Dunsmuir with a sharp 23-3 victory. With that win, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Kyle Noah made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for Burney: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 2-8 otherwise. Noah was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Robbie Madden, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Elliot Compton, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three runs.
Burney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Plumas Charter entered their tilt with Tulelake last Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 31-4 margin over the Honkers. Considering the Warriors have won six games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Zac Smith and Nate Patterson made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Smith struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Patterson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Smith got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Patterson got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Owen Joseph was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Mille, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Plumas Charter's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Burney, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.
Burney might still be hurting after the 18-0 loss they got from Plumas Charter when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
