The Centennial Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Central Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Centennial was the victim of a tough 60-36 defeat at the hands of the Mustangs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Centennial in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.
Centennial's defeat came about despite a quality game from Akasha Prpich, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaleia Young, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Central strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-44.
Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shakeira Mosley out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mosley has scored all season. Lia Sims was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds.
Centennial has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.
Centennial strolled past the Bobcats in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 58-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
