Baseball Recap: Northside Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mundy's Mill

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside). They blew past the Mundy's Mill Tigers 19-1 on Tuesday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Jacob McClure looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Luke Norsworthy was a standout: he scored three runs while going 1-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Gabe Galarza also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Northside hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in nine consecutive matches.

Northside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Mundy's Mill's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside will challenge Mundy's Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mundy's Mill, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Mundy's Mill Tigers challenge Starr's Mill Panthers at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
