Last Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but California had to settle for a 52-50 defeat against Anaheim. California has struggled against Anaheim recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Bell Gardens earned a 41-32 victory over Whittier on Thursday.
Bell Gardens can attribute much of their success to Deanna Moore, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks, and Eliza Villalobos, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds. Moore is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now blocked two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Pamela Brise?o, who scored 9 points.
California now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Bell Gardens, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
