The Cabrillo Conquistadores lost against the Morro Bay Pirates back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cabrillo took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morro Bay. Cabrillo has not had much luck with Morro Bay recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Conquistadores players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angeliyah Gonzalez, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Rylie Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Cabrillo has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-4 record this season. As for Morro Bay, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Cabrillo will take on Santa Maria at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Nevaeh Madrigal and Jenkins. As for Morro Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Mission College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
