Bloomfield extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 4-18. They lost 17-5 to the West Orange Mountaineers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bengals of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Bloomfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miles Jimenez, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Braeden Weber, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
As for West Orange, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-7. Considering they have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On West Orange's side, Shep Stevenson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Stevenson posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Jordan Jackson was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Rothseid, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three runs.
Coming up, Bloomfield will face off against Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Orange, they will square off against Millburn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
