The Lancaster Mennonite Blazers had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 40-35 W over Mount Calvary Christian on Saturday. This was payback for Lancaster Mennonite, who suffered a 58-44 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylie Masters, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Masters is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Clara Webb, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lancaster Mennonite's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Mount Calvary Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.
Lancaster Mennonite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mount Calvary Christian will be playing at home against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Conestoga Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses.
