The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pierz, who took down 75th ranked Kimball, 22-6.
Holdingford moved up to 65 from 117 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Central Minnesota. A 41-7 win over Eden Valley-Watkins helped the Huskers improve their standing.
Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's dynamic duo of Brian Goodwin and James Kuefler proved tough for Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Goodwin threw for 186 yards and one touchdown and Kuefler had 93 yards receiving. Ross Rath helped Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's passing attack out by catching three balls for 50 yards.
Nick Suardi was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 163 yards as Rockford defeated the Lakers. Jordan Redepenning also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.
Tommy Cebulla made the biggest impact on defense this week as Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa bested Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. The 6-foot-0 sophomore forced one fumble and racked up one sack.
Chris Moscho's team's Goodwin and Kuefler have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Goodwin has thrown for 482 yards this season, while Kuefler has 15 catches for 207 yards. The Rockets' Suardi leads the league in rushing yards with 486.
A big matchup in Central Minnesota this week will be when the Cubs take on Maple Lake. At the moment, Kimball is in third, while the Irish are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Jaguars and Rockford face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa comes in having scored 71 this season, while Dan Houghton's team has scored 87. The Jaguars scored 35 points last week as they topped George Montgomery's team.
Maple Lake extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Rockets, 35-28. The win marks fourth in a row for the Tim Knudsen's team.
