The Dunlap Eagles will challenge the Morton Potters at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Dunlap 2.1, Morton 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Dunlap is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Herscher just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since May 7, 2025.
Meanwhile, Morton got themselves on the board against Eureka on Saturday, but Eureka never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 12-0 victory. Considering the Potters have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Alex McKie, who gave up just six hits to keep Eureka off the board. McKie has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jude Parnham, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Cam Crawford was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Morton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
With the win, Morton broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 18-9. As for Dunlap, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-5.
Dunlap was able to grind out a solid victory over Morton in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 5-2. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Potters turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
