Millikan has gone a perfect 5-0 against Fountain Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Barons at 3:30 p.m. Millikan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Fountain Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Friday just wasn't the day for Millikan's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Redondo Union on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.
Millikan got a good showing from Austin Brett, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Brett hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Fountain Valley won against Mission Viejo on Wednesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Barons came out on top against Tesoro by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Barons.
Josh Grack made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grack was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other pitching news, Andrew Harviston looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Isaac Lomeli, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Fountain Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Millikan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Everything went Millikan's way against Fountain Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Millikan made off with a 9-1 win. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
