Baseball Recap: Rock Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pacific Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Academy). They came out on top against the Pacific Ridge Firebirds by a score of 23-19 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-5 on Wednesday.

Max Gimbel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off eight hits. Gimbel was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Quentin Uhland was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Olson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Rock Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Rock Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Pacific Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Rock Academy will square off against Guajome Park Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Frogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.88 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pacific Ridge, they will take on Orange Glen at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
