Gridley is 8-2 against Las Plumas since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Gridley Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Las Plumas Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. Gridley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Gridley didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Oroville, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win.
Gridley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from AnaGloria Luevano, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Luevano hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brook Marr, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, Las Plumas was able to grind out a solid win over Corning on Tuesday, taking the game 38-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Las Plumas.
Gridley pushed their record up to 14-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Las Plumas, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Gridley skirted past Las Plumas 37-35 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gridley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
