The Rio Americano Raiders will square off against the El Dorado Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Rio Americano's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so El Dorado's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While Rio Americano's win against Inderkum wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 8-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Pierce Tully made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, El Dorado can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Galt by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by eight runs or more this season.
El Dorado got a massive performance out of Kevin Thiessen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Garrett, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
El Dorado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Rio Americano's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for El Dorado, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rio Americano has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like El Dorado struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
