The Southern Columbia Area Tigers can finally bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They managed a 52-48 victory over Hughesville. Southern Columbia Area's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, Hughesville still got an impressive performance from Breanna Bobak, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. That's the first time this season that Bobak scored 15 or more points. Ava Snyder was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven assists and two steals.
Even though they lost, Hughesville were working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Southern Columbia Area's win bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Hughesville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Columbia Area's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bloomsburg at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Hughesville, they will take on Loyalsock Township at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Loyalsock Township will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
