This is the first 12-win season for Opelika (12-0) since 2006. So far, no team has looked better in this year's playoffs than the Bulldogs, who won their first two games by a combined margin of 99-0.
It's the fourth-consecutive year with at least 12 wins for Spanish Fort (12-0), which was the 5A champion in 2010, 2012 and 2013. In fact, the Toros have double-digit victories in eight consecutive seasons.
Names to watch: Opelika quarterback
Jake Bentley is rated the No. 6 pro-style passing prospect in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports. Bentley, whose father Bobby coached at Auburn last season, has thrown for 2,575 yards and 27 touchdowns.
Spanish Fort has an equally productive player at quarterback in senior
Tyler Johnston. The three-star prospect has just under 2,800 passing yards and 41 total touchdowns.
Opelika reached the 2012 Class 6A title game.
