The Oroville Tigers were the 49-27 winner over the Paradise Bobcats when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Oroville fell just short of Paradise by a score of 42-40.
Oroville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Serenity Miller, who scored ten points along with three steals. Miller hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Rachel Bone, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Oroville were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Nyah Baker was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points for Paradise. That makes it four consecutive games in which Baker has scored at least 25% of Paradise's points. Madi Vannucci was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Oroville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Paradise, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.
Oroville will take on Lower Lake at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paradise is on the road again on Thursday and play against Lindhurst at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Lindhurst comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
