Basketball Recap: Johansen Drops Season-High Score on Beyer

Johansen scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 68-52 fall against the Beyer Patriots. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Johansen had strong showings from Danna Singh, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight boards and five assists, and Joy Ige, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Singh continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Isis Bankston, who posted six points.

Alana Dancer was nothing short of spectacular for Beyer: she went 8 of 15 en route to 21 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Kulina, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

Johansen's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Beyer, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Johansen has already played their next contest, a 64-19 defeat against Ceres on the 7th. As for Beyer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-36 loss against Livingston on the 7th.
