Softball Recap: Pueblo Centennial Has No Trouble Against Pueblo South

Pueblo Centennial lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pueblo South, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Bulldogs blew past the Colts 16-5 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Olivia Aragon and Karley Zamarripa did most of the damage at the plate: Aragon went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Zamarripa went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Aragon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommilynn Cruz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Pueblo Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pueblo Centennial now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Pueblo South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Pueblo Centennial will take on Pueblo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pueblo South, they will square off against La Junta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
