Lincoln has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Marshall Barristers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Lincoln suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 48-19 loss at the hands of Franklin. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 739th, while Franklin is ranked 293rd).
Meanwhile, Marshall's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Wilson on the road by a decisive 50-33 margin. The match was a 15-15 toss-up at halftime, but Marshall was outscored by Wilson in the second.
Giselly Gaona put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Gibson, who scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks.
Lincoln has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. Marshall's record now sits at 5-12.
Lincoln came up short against Marshall when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 39-33. Can Lincoln avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
