Southeast Whitfield County's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Hiram Hornets. The win was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lane Stratton looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mason Williams was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Noah Singleton, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Southeast Whitfield County's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Hiram, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Southeast Whitfield County will welcome Woodland at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hiram, they will head out to challenge Dalton at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. Hiram is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
