Basketball Recap: Sawyer Hill Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

There's no place like home for Athens, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Tri-City Tornadoes by a score of 50-41 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Athens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sawyer Hill led the charge by putting up 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Hill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Trevor Schilling was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 17 points.

Athens' victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Tri-City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Athens didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-59 win against Delavan on the 10th. As for Tri-City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-59 defeat against Olympia on the 11th.
