Oakmont waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Marysville Indians as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Vikings have won three matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack Rossmiller and Ayden Dringenberg were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rossmiller pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Dringenberg tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Rossmiller scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Dringenberg scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Those three hits gave Rossmiller a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaron Martin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Christan Stella also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Oakmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oakmont pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Marysville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Oakmont is set to face off against their familiar foe Wheatland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Oakmont 3, Wheatland 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Marysville will square off against rival Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
