West is 2-8 against Tehachapi since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The West Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Tehachapi Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with West sitting on four straight victories and Tehachapi on ten.
Even though West has not done well against Golden Valley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. West came out on top against Golden Valley by a score of 39-26. Given West's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while Golden Valley is ranked 934th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
In what's become a running theme this season, Tehachapi gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to North for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-46 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Tehachapi has posted since December 5, 2023.
Riley Walden was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Camille Foster, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
West is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Tehachapi, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
West took a serious blow against Tehachapi in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 68-32. Can West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
