Willits is 0-3 against Credo since March of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Gryphon at 4:00 p.m. Willits will be strutting in after a win while Credo will be coming in after a loss.
Willits got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. Everything went their way against Technology as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.
Corey Rockey was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Rockey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grady Cooley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Carter, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Willits always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Credo came up short against Tomales on Thursday, falling 11-5. The Gryphon haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
The win got Willits back to even at 6-6. As for Credo, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
