Class of 2020 top softball players off to a hot start

In states like Texas, many teams have already played 20 games or more. While in other states the season was just beginning or not even started yet.

Jessica Acosta
High School: Central (El Centro, Calif.) (5-1)
College: Ole Miss
Position: 2B
Acosta has six hits in her last two games with a .632 on base percentage.

Jodie Aguirre
High School: Alvin (Texas) (20-1)
College: Brown University
Position: P
Aguirre leads all Class of 2020 pitchers with 19 wins. She has a 0.92 ERA and has struck out 149 batters.

Ali Belarde
High School: Los Alamitos (Calif.) (10-0)
College: Utah
Position: SS
Belarde is one of many reasons Los Alamitos is ranked No. 3 in the country. She has a hit in seven of her 10 games.

Raegan Breedlove
High School: Central Valley (Shasta Lake, Calif.) (4-0-1)
College: Oregon
Position: P/1B
Breedlove has a 0.00 ERA with two no hitters, a perfect game. She's struck out 65 batters in 25 innings and is batting .545.

Mia Cantu
High School: Klein Collins (Spring, Texas) (9-6)
College: Louisiana-Lafayette
Position: OF/1B
Cantu has a hit in all 15 games to start the season.

Sophia and Aris Carroll
High School: Shadow Ridge (Surprise, Ariz.) (4-5)
College: Arizona
Position: IF/OF and P/3B
Sophia and Aris are twin sisters who excel at Shadow Ridge. Sophia has a .444 average while sister Aris is hitting .360.

Taylor Caudill
High School: JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) (7-2)
College: Boise State
Position: P/SS
Caudill is hitting .500. She's struck out 72 in 38 innings pitched.

Staci Chambers
High School: Granite Hills (El Cajon, Calif.) (6-2)
College: Cal State Fullerton
Position: P
Chambers has five wins in the circle to start the year with an 0.52 ERA.

Danieca Coffey
High School: Angleton (Texas) (10-5)
College: LSU
Position: MIF/OF
Coffey has a hit in nine straight games and is batting .517.

Jayda Coleman
High School: The Colony (Texas) (14-3-2)
College: Oklahoma
Position: OF
Coleman has over a .700 career batting average during her four years. This season is no different. She has at least two hits in 13 of the 17 games. Coleman has an incredible .740 average.
High School: Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton, Fla.)
College: Duke
Position: P/1B
Davidson is batting .500 and has not surrendered a run for the No. 1 team in the country.

Hanna Delgado
High School: Santiago (Corona, Calif.) (8-4)
College: Oregon
Position: 2B
Delgado is hitting .410 for the Southern California team with a strong schedule.

Aynslie Furbush
High School: Winter Springs (Fla.) (8-1)

Furbush is 45-11 overall in the circle in high school, and is off to a 4-1 start this season.

Hannah Gammill

Beebe has walked eight times in just five games with a .750 on base percentage.

Avery Goelz

Goelz has helped lead Lakewood Ranch to a perfect start and ranked No. 1 overall in the country. The left-handed first baseman has a hit in all but one game.

Jacie Hambrick

Hambrick has five games where she has two or more hits. She's also 4-1 in the circle.

Hailey Hudson

Hudson leads all of Class of 2020 players with 157 strikeouts in 86 innings.

Sophie Jacquez
High School: Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove, Calif.) (4-1)
College: Utah
Position: MIF
Jacquez has a hit in every game so far this season, including a four-hit game.

Tiare Jennings
High School: St. Anthony (Long Beach, Calif.) (8-0)

Jennings had six home runs in eight games to start off 2020. Six of her eight games she had three or more hits.

Ava Justman
High School: Chatsworth (Calif.) (5-6)

Justman is hitting .406, and has also struck out 83 batters in 58 innings.

Malau'ulu is on a loaded St. Anthony's team that has recently moved to No. 13 in the country. The UCLA commit is batting .423 to start the season.

Caitlynn Neal

Neal already has eight home runs on the young season. She has also struck out 61 batters in 31 innings pitched.

Jordyn Whitaker

College: Texas
Position: IF
Whitaker has five hits through three games. She has a triple, double and a home run.

Sarah Willis
High School: Norco (Calif.) (11-1)
College: Washington
Position: P
Willis has only one loss in the circle during her time with one of the top teams in the country. She is off to a 4-0 start in 2020.
