Del Oro knocks off Inderkum 35-13 for second consecutive Sac-Joaquin Section title

Golden Eagles win fourth section title since 2010 and fifth overall under head coach Casey Taylor.

Golden Eagles have been having fun all year long.

Del Oro (Loomis) ran away from Inderkum (Sacramento) 35-13 Friday night at Sacramento State University to capture the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II title.

Inderkum was arguably the hottest team in the section after beating No. 1 seed Sacramento 35-33 and following that with a big win over Jesuit 52-35 in the semifinal.

But the Golden Eagles showed why they are one of the perennial contenders in the Sac-Joaquin Section when it comes to postseason play. Head coach Casey Taylor won his fifth overall section title at Del Oro and the program's 11th in 16 attempts.

Del Oro will now look to defend its state title. The Golden Eagles won the CIF State Division II-AA championship in 2015. As of now, MaxPreps projects Del Oro to land in the 1-A Division game next weekend.
