Make it ten blowout wins for the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors this season. They were the clear victor by a 57-33 margin over Temecula Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Desert Christian Academy has posted since December 14, 2023.
Desert Christian Academy was led to victory by Mia Aceituno and Hannah Shaver. Aceituno scored 12 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds, while Shaver dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. Aceituno hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Shekinah Brattrud, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Temecula Prep saw an underclassman step up: Abby Bennett scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Temecula Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Desert Christian Academy racked up 21 assists.
The win (which was Desert Christian Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Temecula Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Desert Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face La Jolla at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully La Jolla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Temecula Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge California Military Institute at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
