The Lick-Wilmerding Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 25 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 57-11 blowout they got on the road against Convent of the Sacred Heart. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-7.
Lick-Wilmerding's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amaya Tavu led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Lacap, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Lick-Wilmerding is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Convent of the Sacred Heart, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Lick-Wilmerding will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Crystal Springs Uplands at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. As for Convent of the Sacred Heart, they will take on Marin Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Marin Academy's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Convent of the Sacred Heart has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
