The Credo Gryphon will head out on the road to face off against the St. Bernard's Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Credo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1039th, while St. Bernard's is ranked 90th).
Credo and Sonoma Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly Credo had to settle for second. They were dealt a 51-21 loss at the hands of the Coyotes. Credo's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite their defeat, Credo saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Maya Leach, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Hope Madden, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, St. Bernard's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 100-99 to Eureka. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Like Credo, St. Bernard's lost despite seeing results from several players. Samantha Sundberg led the charge by scoring seven points. Madelyn Shanahan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Credo's record now sits at 11-14. St. Bernard's record now sits at 23-4.
