Softball Recap: Lincoln East Has No Trouble Against Lincoln Northeast

Lincoln East's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lincoln Northeast Rockets as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Spartans have won 12 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Savannah Stahly looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nevaeh Coleman was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Mays, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Lincoln East lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Lincoln East is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Northeast, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-20.

Lincoln East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-11 loss against Kearney on the 4th. As for Lincoln Northeast, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-4 win against Grand Island on the 4th.
