The Vallejo Redhawks lost against the Fairfield Falcons back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Vallejo fell 59-48 to Fairfield. Vallejo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Vallejo still got an impressive performance from Jazmine Cardwell, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. Cardwell scored a full 58.3% of Vallejo's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Ashby, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Fairfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mariah Giron , who scored 19 points along with four steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Mayana Williams was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Vallejo's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Fairfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Vallejo will head out on the road to face off against El Cerrito at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield is on the road again on Thursday and play against Mountain House at 4:30 p.m. on December 14th.
