Natalie Cable made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Marley Boucher and Paige Sanchez did most of the damage at the plate: Boucher went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Sanchez went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Boucher is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Lindsay Cable was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plant City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Riverview 10-0 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their one-run performance the match before.
Plant City also got a great performance from Kyleigh Gibbs as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Rylee Mobley was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Meiers, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Plant City pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bloomingdale, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Everything went Bloomingdale's way against Plant City when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Bloomingdale made off with an 11-0 victory. Will Bloomingdale repeat their success, or does Plant City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
