The Oroville Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They secured a 44-39 W over Gridley. This was payback for Oroville, who suffered a 40-23 loss the last time these two teams met.
Oroville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leila Jackson led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six steals. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lili Kelemen, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
Oroville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season. As for Gridley, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
