Last Friday, Great Oak strolled past Temecula Valley with points to spare, taking the game 53-34.
Great Oak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bri Thomas, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Kayla Martin, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Murrieta Mesa ended up a good deal behind Vista Murrieta on Friday and lost 58-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Murrieta Mesa in their matchups with Vista Murrieta: they've now lost six in a row.
Great Oak is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Murrieta Mesa, they bumped their record down to 7-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Great Oak against Murrieta Mesa in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-17 victory. With Great Oak ahead 34-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
