It was a good run, but the San Marcos Royals unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Oxnard 68-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points San Marcos has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oxnard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikayla Oliver, who scored 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Sofia Salgado was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
San Marcos' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Oxnard, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
San Marcos will head out on the road to face off against Ventura at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ventura has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 339 points over their last five games. Oxnard will be home for the holidays to greet Camarillo at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Camarillo is ranked 91st, while Oxnard is ranked 69th).
