Livermore hasn't had much luck against Monte Vista recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cowboys are taking a road trip to take on the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Livermore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Livermore managed to slip by Amador Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cowboys came up short against the Dons on Friday, falling 11-4.

Hayden Maas was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nico Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to California, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 19, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Monte Vista also got a good showing from Ethan Smith, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Furthermore, Smith didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

At the plate, Zane Worth made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

Monte Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Livermore, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Livermore came up short against Monte Vista when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 11-7. Can the Cowboys avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
