 At the plate, Thornton let  Layla Martinez and  Izabella Groover run wild. Martinez  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double, while  Groover  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Martinez is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last five games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Elenna Gray, who  earned two  runs and two  stolen bases.
Thornton's win bumped their record up to 10-1-1. As for Northglenn, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record  this season.
 Thornton will host Jefferson Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Northglenn, they will face off against Westminster at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Norsemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.2  runs per game this season.
