The Fairfield Falcons were the 60-49 winner over the West Park Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Fairfield took a hard 47-33 fall against West Park on Wednesday. Fairfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Fairfield still got an impressive performance from Mayana Williams , who scored seven points along with 18 rebounds and four blocks. Williams hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Giron , who scored nine points.
Fairfield has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for West Park, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bella Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bella Vista is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. West Park will finish 2023 at home by hosting Del Oro on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Shaelyn Parry and Jill Ngo.
