The Roncalli Catholic Crimson Pride will head out on the road to square off against the Blair Bears at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roncalli Catholic is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Roncalli Catholic had to suffer through a rough 58-29 loss at the hands of Bishop Neumann. While losing is never fun, Roncalli Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Bishop Neumann is ranked 24th).
Meanwhile, Blair put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Concordia as Blair made off with a 58-33 win. Blair pushed the score to 50-19 by the end of the third, a deficit Concordia cut but never quite recovered from.
Among those leading the charge was Addie Sullivan, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Kate Wulf, who scored ten points.
Roncalli Catholic has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Blair, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Roncalli Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Blair when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roncalli Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
