The Windber Ramblers came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past North Star 57-16 at home. Windber has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 29 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windber to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mariah Andrews, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 22 rebounds. Andrews is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Gaye, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Windber is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for North Star, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Windber will stay at home for another game and welcome Moshannon Valley at 7:15 p.m. on January 29th. Moshannon Valley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for North Star, they will take on Glendale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Glendale is ranked 601st, while North Star is ranked 584th).
