Brandon/Evansville had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. Brandon/Evansville weren't too far behind, but the team still lost 14-20 to Verndale on Friday. If Brandon/Evansville were hoping to take revenge for the 16-26 loss against Verndale the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Brandon/Evansville off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Verndale a 1-0 record.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Brandon/Evansville will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Hillcrest Lutheran Academy at 7:00 PM. Verndale will look to defend their home turf next week against Park Christian at 7:00 PM.
