Fillmore received a tough blow as they fell 40-22 to Channel Islands. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fillmore in their matchups with Channel Islands: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Fillmore had strong showings from Aryanne Munoz, who scored 11 points along with four steals, and Nataly Vigil, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. Munoz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Fillmore has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Channel Islands, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fillmore will take on Santa Paula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Paula is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Channel Islands, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Carpinteria at 7:00 p.m.
