The Village Christian Crusaders waltzed into their match Saturday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They blew past San Dimas 70-49. Village Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 21 points or more this season.
Village Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alanna Neale, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Bryanne Lopez-Wood was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
San Dimas lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Janessa Rodriguez, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kamora Fletcher, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, San Dimas were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Village Christian only racked up 18 assists.
Village Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for San Dimas, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Village Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Del Norte at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for San Dimas, they will head out on the road to face off against Sultana at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
