The Etiwanda Eagles will take on the Dana Hills Dolphins at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Etiwanda has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Things were looking good for Etiwanda after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Great Oak by a score of 4-3.
Etiwanda handed starting duties to Noah Frias, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Frank Gonzales was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dana Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Buchanan 10-3 on Friday. Considering the Dolphins have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryan See was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
See wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ely Olesen, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jaiden Guzman also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Dana Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Dana Hills pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Etiwanda, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
