The Morse Tigers stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past Mar Vista 66-14 at home. Given Morse's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Mar Vista is ranked 1167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Morse had a senior duo take command as Kyla Palpallatoc scored 16 points along with six assists and four steals and Jayla White dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Palpallatoc has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Deveney Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Morse is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season. As for Mar Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Morse will head out on the road to take on Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mar Vista, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hilltop at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
